Recovery Disks for your Operating System:
Used to be you would receive your installed software, including your Operating System, on separate disks so in the event you needed to, you could restore your computer back to the original factory state. Such as, if your computer crashed, and you had to do a complete Destructive System Recovery, (which is cleaning everything off of your hard drive and starting over again,) you had everything you needed to restore everything back to the factory state.
Now, standard practice throughout the industry, most manufacturers don't include the recovery disks with your new computer. Most of them will include it on a partitioned section of the hard drive. Thus, unobtainable in the event your system crashes.
With many manufactures, software would be included on the hard drive so that you can burn and create your own set of recovery disks. You will need to provide the blank media, check the manufacturers owners manuals for the details you will need to know.
This feature also varies between manufacturers so make sure to check the specifications and owners manual so you know what to expect, before you purchase. Some manufactures may have the recovery media available to purchase separately.
The thing to remember is, if you are able to make your own recovery disks, do so immediately after installing your operating system so that you will have them if you experience a problem.
