Help choosing a computer
Let's look at the main components inside a computer, also known as hardware that affect the performance.
Whether it's a desktop, laptop, or notebook computer, the basic components in each are the same. There are many variations of each of the components that will have different effects on the performance of the computer. Logically the better the rating of the component the better the performance, and invariably the more the cost. The components or hardware that effect the performance are the the 'Processor',(usually Intel or AMD), ;' RAM or Memory', Ram,  SDRAM, DDRSDRAM, DDR2SDRAM , ;  and the 'Hard Drive' which is where everything that you save to your computer is stored. The ratings of each of these is usually listed in the product description, and in most cases in that order.(for an example, look to the right at one of the computers listed, you will see the brand and model, the type and rate of the processor, the RAM or DDR/DDR2 memory, and the hard drive memory/storage capacity, or 'HDD' which is 'Hard Disk Drive')
Other components that can be considered are the audio and graphics cards/applications and direct wired,(ethernet or USB) and wireless networking capabilities. (this is how your machine will perform when connecting to the internet) Though the networking capabilities seem to be fairly standard in all machines, but always double check to be sure.
Wireless Technology and WiFi Hotspots
For connecting quickly to wireless networks look for built-in 802.11G or 802.11N wireless technology. Usually listed with 'Interface type', 'Data transfer rate', and/or Protocols
More Help choosing a computer
If you want impressive performance speeds and a comprehensive set of integrated features, look for a unit with a fast dual-core or better processor, large capacity hard drive with fast read/write speeds, (doing a little research shows depending on what your doing more of, reading from discs or burning them, the speed of the disc also plays a role on your read/write speed), and plenty of RAM memory, (now listed frequently as DDR and DDR2 with the latter being the better or best I believe at this time), 2 gigabytes (or 'GB') is probably the minimum you want to go for a better performance out of your machine, lean more towards 4 gigabytes of DDR2 memory if your going to be running Windows Vista for your operating system. This way you'll be able to multitask, running several resource greedy programs and/or applications at the same time.

OLED  Organic Light Emitting Diode

New technology for televisions, computer monitor displays, cell phone and mp3 display screens, is OLED. OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. The concept does produce brighter clearer display imaging, with almost half of the power consumption of a LCD, (Liquid Crystal Display).

The price range for a larger (than a cell phone or mp3 player display) monitor, display, viewing screen, is considerably more that an LCD. As well, the clarity of the picture also depends on the pixels, as it does in the LCD, cameras, all of the other applications where pixels are a factor, for clarity, definition, and such.

So before you jump online and buy the first one that you set your eyes on, check the features, check the reviews, compare to see what your getting for the price as compared to what the other manufacturers and places to shop offer.

Also to be known just so you know. LCD' TV with 3D that do need polarized glasses. A TV panel that uses a liquid lens so you won't need 3D glasses to experience the 3D effect.

Don't confuse LED and OLED

An LED and OLED display are different from each other. In that a LED HDTV, for example, is a LCD television, using LED, light emitting diodes, to back light the system rather than florescent-type back lighting which has been more commonly used, up until the introduction of LED  lighting, to give light to the LCD pixels.

To simplify and condense the definition of the difference of each, it will be described as this.

LCD pixels don't produce their own light and therefore have to have an alternative light source so they will be visible.

Where as, OLED pixels, produce their own light source when an electric current is applied, thus not needing a separate light source as the LCD does.
